Question 1

Why use a contract template instead of writing from scratch?

Accepted Answer

A template gives you a proven starting structure, so you're filling in details rather than trying to remember every clause a good contract needs. It also keeps your agreements consistent from one client to the next.

Question 2

Who should sign a contract first?

Accepted Answer

There's no universal rule — usually whoever is proposing the deal (the seller, contractor, or service provider) sends it out first, and the other party signs once they accept the terms. It's a matter of common practice, not law.

Question 3

Can I customize DocuBunny's templates?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every field, clause, and section can be edited before you send it, and you can save your changes as your own reusable template for next time.

Question 4

What can make a contract unenforceable?

Accepted Answer

Common issues include one side breaking a key term first, the contract requiring something illegal, no real exchange of value between the parties, a signer who lacked the legal capacity to agree (a minor, for example), or one party being misled about material facts. This isn't an exhaustive list, and whether a specific contract holds up can depend on where you're located — when in doubt, it's worth having a lawyer look at it.

Question 5

Why do businesses bother with contracts at all?

Accepted Answer

They turn a verbal understanding into something you can point to — what was promised, by when, and for how much. If something goes wrong, the contract is usually the first thing everyone looks at to sort out who's right.

Question 6

Is a template the same thing as a signed contract?

Accepted Answer

No — a template is the blank form. It becomes a contract once it's filled in, agreed to by everyone involved, and signed.

Question 7

Are contracts signed through DocuBunny legally binding?

Accepted Answer

Yes. DocuBunny's e-signatures are designed to meet standard electronic signature laws, such as the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA, and every signature is backed by a full audit trail recording who signed, when, and from where.
